As a member of the Contemporary Quilt Group, part of the Quilter's Guild, I participated in the 2009 Journal Quilts Challenge. These mini quilts had to be 12" by 6" in Landscape or Portrait style and one produced for each month of the year.

Having travelled to South Africa and Morocco in 2008 I decided to use these two countries for my inspiration for these mini quilts. Techniques included using my own photographs, printed on to fabric and paper, stencilled people and objects, painted on to the backgrounds with appliqued fabrics. All the Quilts were straight stitched or free stitched with zigzaged edges using my Bernina sewing machine.
